Level II Programs
The programs at this
level offer participants an unparalleled range of study which enables
them to develop the functional skills required for a complete
understanding of operating a business as a total enterprise. The
objective of the Level II Programs is to lay a strong, broad managerial
foundation to prepare the participants for the responsibilities of
management positions with Multi-national or Chinese companies.

Modules Will Be Covered In 12 Three Hour Sessions
1. Corporate Strategy
The module addresses the challenges
of formulating and implementing strategy in companies that are active
in multiple businesses. As such it incorporates important recent
developments in strategy that bring a broader perspective to issues of
scope advantage and corporate strategy. New conceptual frameworks will
be introduced, and four major topics will be covered, the resources of
the firm, organizational boundaries of the firm, economics of scope and
organization and coordination.
2. Achieving Profit Goals And Strategies
This module is
designed to provide hands-on practice in using accounting techniques
and levers for control to achieve profit goals and implement strategies
directly related to China's rapidly changing economic environment.
3. Strategic Management
What is the relationship between
strategy and what happens in a firm? How is it that brilliant strategic
concepts often seem to have negligible impact on company performance?
Why don't resources move where leaders direct? How can general managers
focus resources so that their business moves in intended directions
creating value for shareholders? These are the problems general
managers face as they try to make strategy work: growing their
businesses and developing new technologies and products in a turbulent
competitive environment while meeting the demands of shareholders for
steady profits.
4. Strategic And Business Plan Preparation
Participants
will learn to assemble continuously updated strategic and business
plans. The participants will learn how to manage business planning that
implements a firm's strategic plan while also informing the strategic
plan. The evolving business plan will be structured in a form that can
also be used to prepare the convincing type of business plan necessary
for a firm to secure outside financing.
