Da Tang, Ltd. Principals and Instructors
Robert Lucas is CEO of Da Tang, Ltd., an investment banking, venture capital and consulting firm. Dr. Lucas is a resident of Beijing, P.R. China. He graduated from Northwestern University in 1957 and has since earned an MBA as well as a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Columbia-Pacific University using postgraduate academic credits earned at University of Chicago, Stanford University, Columbia University and Northwestern University. His business career began in 1961 as a registered stockbroker associated with New York Stock Exchange Member Firms. In 1965, he became the president of Cambridge Financial, Ltd. a venture capital provider. In 1971 he was appointed as the CEO of International Securities and Hedging, Ltd. of London, England, a business development, capital formation and currency hedging firm. From 1979 to 1988 he acted as the chairman and CEO for Oceana, Ltd. of London, England where he was involved in global financial planning, management consulting and creating marketing strategies for companies establishing business operations in Asia. In 1994 he relocated to Beijing China where he has acted as the interim General Manager of Beijing ASR, for whom he established a unique marketing program for its medical diagnostic products in China. He has subsequently acted as a financial and marketing consultant in Beijing and recently founded Da Tang, Ltd. During his business career he has arranged for the private or public placement of over USD 200 million of securities in the form of corporate shares, partnership interests and trust certificates. He has been responsible for the securitization of commercial real estate with a current market value of over USD 300 million. He has written articles that have appeared in China’s major financial publications including the Economic Daily. His articles have focused on the economic opportunities presented by China’s current transition from a state controlled economy to a market economy and how best to take advantage of them. Dr. Lucas has almost 30 years experience in designing and teaching trainings and seminars. His seminars have focused mainly on training sales and management groups for new and unexplored areas of business; in defining, meeting and overcoming business challenges and how to succeed in unfamiliar business directions. Dr. Lucas is CEO of Da Tang with his main tasks being head instructor and curriculum development.

Richard is Da Tang, Ltd.'s Chief
Operating Officer and a member of Da Tang, Ltd.'s Board Of Directors.
From 1986 through 1990, he was the Senior Securities Trader for
Liquidity Financial Investment Corporation (LFIC) of San Francisco. In
that position he was responsible for the client portfolios, generated
research and analysis reports on targeted securities, negotiated
securities trades trough NASD market-makers and broker dealers, and
increased the firms securities trading volume by 2,000%. In 1990, he
was promoted to vice-president for Institutional Sales with
responsibility for designing and implementing securities distribution
programs for public offerings of securities. He also was responsible
for supervising the asset management for investment funds at LFIC. In
1993, Richard founded his own firm, RMS Consulting and Capital
Management, (RMS). He has lived in P.R.China since 1996 and studied
Chinese language at Yunnan University in Kunming, P.R.China. He has an
intermediate level ability in Chinese. Richard has researched and
written a number of articles for Asian financial journals such as The
China Trade Report (Far Eastern Economic Review) and Asiaweek. Since
coming to Beijing from Kunming in 1998, he has instructed numerous
business seminars and courses in such subjects as International
Business and Organizational Management Theory. He joined Da
Tang, Ltd. as Chief Operating Officer upon the acquisition of RMS by Da
Tang, Ltd. in an exchange of shares. Richard is an instructor teaching
Level I and Level II programs at Da Tang.
